Let \(G\) be a group and \(2^G\) the Boolean algebra of all its subsets. The author studies the mapping \(\Delta\colon 2^G\to 2^G\), \(A\mapsto\Delta(A)\), where \(\Delta(A)=\{g\in G:|gA\cap A|\geq\aleph_0\}\), called the combinatorial derivation [see \textit{I. V. Protasov}, Appl. Gen. Topol. 14, No. 2, 171-178 (2013; Zbl 1293.20002)] and its multivalued inverse \(\nabla\). Namely, in the paper are constructed various families of subsets of \(G\) which are invariant under the action of \(\Delta\) or \(\nabla\). A typical result: Let \(G\) be a discrete amenable group and \(\mu\) a Banach measure on it. Then the family \(\mathcal N_\mu\) of subsets of measure zero is \(\nabla\)-invariant but not \(\Delta\)-invariant.
