The aim of the paper under review is to study the extended Shi arrangement for type \(A\) by fixing a hyperplane in it and to calculating the number of regions for which that hyperplane is a separating wall. There is a well-known bijection from certain integer partitions to dominant regions. The authors use two different descriptions of this bijection, one is combinatorial and the other is geometric. By using the bijection, the authors enumerate regions by first characterizing and then counting the partitions associated to the regions.
