This paper is concerned with the 3D incompressible Euler equations containing a passive scalar \(\theta\). The equations look like \[ \frac{\text{D} {\mathbf{u}}}{\text{D} t} = - \nabla p, \qquad \frac{\text{D} \theta}{\text{D} t} = 0, \qquad \frac{\text{D}}{\text{D} t} = \partial_{t} + {\mathbf{u}} \cdot \nabla , \qquad {\operatorname{div}} \,\, {\mathbf{u}} = 0, \tag{1} \] and they are governing in a smooth bounded domain \(\Omega \subset {\mathbf R}^{3}\) with no-normal-flow boundary conditions \({\mathbf u} \cdot {\mathbf{\hat n}}|_{\partial \Omega} = 0\). The main objective of the article is to study the blow-up problem in the context of the evolution of divergence-free solutions of the Euler equations \({\mathbf u}({\mathbf x}, t)\) together with a passive scalar \(\theta({\mathbf x}, t)\). The authors prove an analoguous result to the Beale-Kato-Majda theorem which is known as the main regularity result for 3D Euler equations. Some ideas from the theory of linear elliptic systems are applied for this purpose. The bibliography contains 44 items.
