The authors consider the system of equations describing three-dimensional flows of an inhomogeneous incompressible Herschel-Bulkey fluid in the region situated between two eccentric cylinders. For this ``threshold-fluid'', analogous of a Bingham fluid, the inhomogeneous incompressible Navier-Stokes system is solved and the existence of a weak solution is proved, using a method (different from the variational technique used by \textit{G. Duvaut} and \textit{J. L. Lions} [Inequalities in mechanics and physics. Translated from the French by C.W. John. Grundlehren der mathematischen Wissenschaften. Band 219. Berlin-Heidelberg-New York: Springer-Verlag. (1976; Zbl 0331.35002)]) relying on an approximation of the threshold-fluid by a non-Newtonian non-threshold one, through weak compactness techniques.
