Let \(\mathcal A\) denote the class of functions with the series expansion \[ {f(z)=z+ \sum^{\infty}_{k=2}a_{k}z^{k}} \] in the unit disc \(\mathbb U=\{z:|z|<1\}\). We denote by \(\mathcal S\) the subclass of \(\mathcal A\), consisting of the univalent functions. In [Appl. Math. Lett. 16, No. 5, 653--655 (2003; Zbl 1064.30008)] \textit{N. Takahashi} and \textit{M. Nunokawa} defined the following subclass of \(\mathcal A\): \[ {\mathcal S\mathcal S^{*}(\alpha, \beta)= \left\{ f \in A: \frac{- \pi \beta}{2}< \mathrm{arg} \frac{zf^{\prime}(z)}{f(z)}< \frac{\pi \alpha}{2}, \quad z \in U \right\} } \] for some \(0< \alpha \leq 1\) and some \(0< \beta \leq 1\). In [Int. J. Math. Math. Sci. 22, No. 1, 75--79 (1999; Zbl 0921.30009)] \textit{H. Silverman} examined the class \(\mathcal G_{b}\) of mappings \(f \in \mathcal S\) that satisfy the condition \[ {\left| \frac{1+\frac{zf^{\prime \prime}(z)}{f^{\prime}(z)}}{\frac{zf^{\prime}(z)}{f(z)}}-1 \right|<b, \,\,\, z \in U}, \] for some positive \(b\). In [Bull. Inst. Math., Acad. Sin. 31, No. 3, 195--199 (2003; Zbl 1062.30016)] \textit{M. Nunokawa} et al. obtained the following theorem. Theorem 1.2. If \(f\) belongs to the class \(\mathcal G_{b(\beta)}\) with \[ {b(\beta)=\frac{\beta}{\sqrt{(1-\beta)^{1-\beta}(1+\beta)^{1+\beta}}}}, \] then \(f \in \mathcal S\mathcal S^{*}(\beta)\). In this work, the authors consider an analogous problem for the classes \(\mathcal G_{b}\) and \(\mathcal S\mathcal S^{*}(\alpha, \beta)\). Namely, given \(\alpha, \beta\), they look for the possible large \(b\) such that \(\mathcal G_{b}\subset \mathcal S\mathcal S^{*}(\alpha, \beta)\).
