Summary: Let \(X\) be a topological vector space and let \(\mathcal B(X)\) be the algebra of continuous linear operators on \(X\). The operators \(T_1, \dots, T_N \in \mathcal B(X)\) are disjoint hypercyclic if there is \(x \in X\) such that the orbit \(\{(T_1^n(x), \dots, T_N^n(x)) : n \in \mathbb N\}\) is dense in \(X\times \dots \times X\). \textit{J. Bès} and \textit{A. Peris} [J. Funct. Anal. 167, No. 1, 94--112 (1999; Zbl 0941.47002)] have shown that, if \(T_1, \dots, T_N\) satisfy the disjoint blow-up/collapse property, then they are disjoint hypercyclic. In a recent paper, \textit{J. Bés} et al. [J. Oper. Theory 72, No. 1, 15--40 (2014; Zbl 1318.47010)], among other things, have characterized disjoint hypercyclic \(N\)-tuples of weighted shifts in terms of this property. We introduce the strong disjoint blow-up/collapse property and prove that, if \(T_1, \dots, T_N\) satisfy this new property, then they have a dense linear manifold of disjoint hypercyclic vectors. This allows us to give a partial affirmative answer to one of their questions.
