    The paper studies the Dirichlet problem \(-\nabla \cdot (A\nabla u +eu)+b\cdot \nabla u +cu=f\) in \(\Omega \subset \mathbb {R}^n\), \(u=0\), on \(\partial \Omega \). Here, \(A\) is an elliptic matrix-valued function satisfying \(A\in L^\infty (\Omega ,\mathbb {R}^n)\), and the other coefficients are from the Lorentz spaces \(e,b\in L^{n,\infty }(\Omega ,\mathbb {R}^n)\), \(c\in L^{n/2,\infty }(\Omega )\). Sufficient conditions are found under which this Dirichlet problem is uniquely solvable in the Sobolev space \(W^{1,p}(\Omega )\). The authors also find conditions under which the solution of the Dirichlet problem in \(W^{1,p}(\Omega )\) lies in \(L^q(\Omega )\) with \(1/q =1/p+1/n\).
