Having as starting point the previous intensive study in the mathematical literature of the Riemann function \(R(x)=\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}\frac{\sin(2 \pi n^{2} x)}{n^{2}}\), in the present paper the authors study the spectrum of singularities of the general function \(F(x)=\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}\frac{e(P(n)x)}{n^{\alpha}}\), where \(P\) is a polynomial with integer coefficients of degree \(k>1\). They prove that, in particular, \(F\) is a multifractal function (meaning that if we classify the points according to the Hölder exponent of \(F\), in the resulting sets we find infinitely many distinct Hausdorff dimensions). The main results can be stated as follows. { Theorem 1.} Let \(1+k/2<\alpha<k\). Then for \(0\leq \beta <1/(2k)\) we have \[ (\nu_{0}+2)\beta \leq d_{F}(\beta + (\alpha-1)/k)\leq \omega(\beta), \] where \(\omega(\beta)=2\beta/(2^{-k}+\beta)\), for \(0\leq \beta<1/(k2^{k})\), \(\omega(\beta)=3/2 - \sqrt{(k+4)/(4k)-2\beta}\), for \(1/(k2^{k})\leq \beta < 1/(2k)\). Here \(\nu_{0}=\max\{\nu_{F}, 2\}\) with \(\nu_{F}\) the maximal multiplicity of a complex zero of \(P^{\prime}\), \(d_f(\beta)=\dim_{H}\{x ; \beta_{f}(x)=\beta\}\), with \(\dim_{H}\) the Hausdorff dimension, \(\beta_{f}(x)=\sup\{\gamma ; f\in C^{\gamma}(x)\}\), with \(C^{\gamma}(x)=\{f: |f(x+h)-P(h)|=O(|h|^{\gamma})\}\) , for some polynomial \(P\) of degree \(\leq \gamma\).
