On dynamics of Lotka-Volterra type operators (Q2447310)

The authors are interested in the operator defined in the \((n-1)\) dimensional simplex \(S^{m-1}\) of \(\mathbb{R}^m\) by \[ (V)_k=x_k(1+f_k(x)),\quad k\in\{1,\dots, m\}, \] where \(f: S^{m-1} \to\mathbb{R}^m\). Moreover, \(V\) is of Lotka-Volterra type, i.e., continuous in \(S^{m-1}\) and \(V(S^{m-1})\subset S^{m-1}\). The authors study convergence of the trajectories \(\{V^nx\}_{n\geq0}\) and provide estimates of the fixed points of \(V\). Two examples are considered.
