The paper deals with the hierarchy of evolution equations based on the general Sturm-Liouville spectral problem \[ -(p\varphi')' + q \varphi = \lambda \varphi \] with a potential \(a = (p, q, y)\). This hierarchy, called the Sturm-Liouville hierarchy, includes the standard KdV and Camassa-Holm hierarchies. It was introduced by the authors in [Adv. Nonlinear Stud. 11, No. 3, 555-591 (2011; Zbl 1225.35200)], where the theory of algebro-geometric potentials \(a = (p, q, y)\) was developed and solutions of equations from the Sturm-Liouville hierarchy, with an algebro-geometric potential as an initial condition, were constructed. In the present paper, the authors obtain solutions of the Sturm-Liouville hierarchy with an initial condition, being a generalized reflectionless potential but not of algebro-geometric type. This potential is constructed as a limit of algebro-geometric potentials. In order to deal with infinite products, the Weierstrass-Runge convergence factors are used.
