The paper deals with a form of generalised topology where the system of open sets has to be closed under union but not under intersection. Here the empty set is also open. So the topological structures considered are the duals of Moore families. Besides usual topological spaces, one could consider for example vector spaces in which the closed sets are the linear subspaces (including the full space). The requirements for a generalised neighbourhood are even more general, it is a system which assigns to every \(x\) a set \(\psi(x)\) of sets such that \(x \in V\) for all \(v \in \psi(x)\); so a generalised neighbourhood system satisfies the bare minimum which one would require. In their paper, Kanibir and Agiroglu extend prior work of Császár in two directions: They give a characterisation of continuous mappings between generalised topological spaces and they furthermore carry over the concept of enlargements to generalised neighbourhood systems.
