The author studies the forced pendulum equation, \[ x''+\beta\sin x=f(t), \] where \(\beta>0\) and \(f\) is a continuous \(T\)-periodic function with zero average. It is shown that if \[ \beta\leq (\pi/T)^2, \] then the set of functions \(f\) for which there exists a Lyapunov stable \(T\)-periodic solution is prevalent in the sense of \textit{W. Ott} and \textit{J. A. Yorke} [Bull. Am. Math. Soc., New Ser. 42, No. 3, 263--290 (2005; Zbl 1111.28014)] in the space of \(T\)-periodic functions with zero average.
