This paper deals with the equivalence of two norms used to define a Hardy space on \(\mathbb R^n\) with the Gaussian measure \(d\gamma(x):=\pi^{-n/2}e^{-|x|^2}dx\). Let \(L\) be the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck operator defined by \[ Lf(x):=\frac12\triangle f(x)-x\cdot\nabla f(x),\,\,x\in\mathbb R^n. \] Define the non-tangential maximal functions and conical square functions associated with \(L\) by \[ T^\ast_a f(x):=\sup_{(y,\, t)\in \Gamma^a_x(\gamma)}\left|e^{t^2L}f(y)\right| \] and \[ S_af(x):=\left(\int_{\Gamma^a_x(\gamma)}\dfrac1{\gamma(B(y,t))}\left|t\nabla e^{t^2L}f(y)\right|^2\,d\gamma(y)\frac{dt}{t}\right)^{1/2}, \] where \[ \Gamma^a_x(\gamma):=\{(y, t)\in\mathbb R^n\times (0, \infty):\,\,|y-x|<t<am(x)\} \] is the admissible cone based at the point \(x\in \mathbb R^n\), \(m(x):=\min\{1,\,1/|x|\}\) is the corresponding admissibility function, and \(a\) the admissibility parameter. One defines the corresponding Hardy spaces \(h^1_{\text{max},\,a}(\gamma)\) as the completion of \(C^\infty_c(\mathbb R^n)\), the space of smooth compactly supported functions, with respect to \[ \|f\|_{h^1_{\text{max},\,a}(\gamma)}:=\|T^\ast_af\|_{L^1(\gamma)}, \] and \(h^1_{\text{quad},\,a}(\gamma)\) as the completion of \(C^\infty_c(\mathbb R^n)\) with respect to \[ \|f\|_{h^1_{\text{quad},\,a}(\gamma)}:=\|S_a f\|_{L^1(\gamma)}+\|f\|_{L^1(\gamma)}. \] The author shows that for given \(a>0\), there exists \(a'>0\) such that \(h^1_{\text{quad},\,a}(\gamma)=h^1_{\text{max},\,a'}(\gamma)\). Moreover, the author also shows that the Riesz transforms associated with \(L\) are bounded from \(h^1_{\text{quad},\,2}(\gamma)\) to \(L^1(\gamma)\).
