In this paper the author studies an infinite family of homogeneous polynomial self-maps of spheres. For each distribution on the sphere the gradient map of the associated Cartan-Münzner polynomial is a homogeneous polynomial self-map on sphere of algebraic degree \(g\) (\(g\) is the number of different principal curvature distributions). The author identifies the gradient map of the Cartan-Münzner polynomial as a member of the infinite family of homogeneous polynomial maps. For a type of isoparametric hypersurface distribution, namely Cartan distribution with three distinct principal curvatures, the author obtains a strong result: the self-maps on spheres are matrix polynomial self-maps.
