The aim of the paper is to introduce Euclidean classical field theory, in particular the supersymmetric variant, and its path-integral quantization using a general homological language in the context of formal derived moduli spaces of solutions to elliptic differential equations. In particular a mathematically natural construction of the \(\mathbb P^1\) of twisted \(\mathcal N = 4\) supersymmetric gauge theories constructed by \textit{A. Kapustin} and \textit{E. Witten} [Commun. Number Theory Phys. 1, No. 1, 1--236 (2007; Zbl 1128.22013)] in their study of the geometric Langlands program is presented, and it is explained how this \(\mathbb P^1\) of field theories is related to the A- and B-models with the Hitchin system as target.
