This paper concerns bifurcation of nonradial solutions to the problem \[ \begin{alignedat}{2} -\Delta &u =(N+\alpha)(N-2)| x|^\alpha u{N+2+2\alpha\over N-2}\quad &\text{in }\mathbb R^N,\\ &u> 0\quad &\text{in }\mathbb R^N, \end{alignedat} \] where \(\alpha>0\) and \(N\geq 3\), from the family of radial solutions \[ M_\alpha(x)= (1+| x|^{2+\alpha})^{2-N\over 2+\alpha}. \] If \(\alpha\) is not an even integer, then the dimension of the solution space of the linearized (in \(M_\alpha\)) problem equals to one. If \(\alpha=2(k-1)\) with \(k\in\mathbb N\), then this dimension is much higher, and there bifurcate at least one (if \(k\) is odd) or \([\frac{N}{2}]\) (if \(k\) is even) branches of nonradial solutions.
