Embedded spaces and wavelets on a manifold (Q2451214)

The paper introduces a simple method for a covering refinement of a smooth manifold. The notions of a simple and elementary refinement of a covering and the concept of an extension of the original covering equipment are introduced. The obtained covering family is used to construct embedded spline spaces of Lagrange type and of wavelet decompositions on the smooth manifold. In order to satisfy the basis properties in these spaces, some calibration relations need to be fulfilled.
