The authors introduce a new topology, the Plaque Topology (PT), on the inverse limit of a holomorphic branched covering self-map \(S\) of a Riemann surface of finite degree greater than \(1\). In this setting, they introduce the concept of regular and irregular points, and then investigate local topological properties at irregular points. They show that this leads to a Boolean algebra and certain sigma-lattices, which are useful for computing local topological invariants of \(PT\). The paper closes with various results about the interplay between the dynamics of the forward iterations of \(S\) and the topology \(PT\).
