Summary: A boundary layer steady MHD flow has been carried out to study the heat and mass transfer effect of a viscous incompressible fluid over a stretching porous sheet in the presence of heat source and viscous dissipation. The equations of motion, heat transfer and species concentration are reduced to non-linear ordinary differential equations and the exact solutions are obtained in the form of confluent hypergeometric function (Kummer's function). The effect of the various parameters entering into the problem Prandtl number \(P_r\), Eckert number \(E_c\), Schmidt number \(S_c\), magnetic parameter \(M^2\), permeability parameter \(K_p\), injection parameter \(\lambda\), stretching parameter S on the velocity distribution, temperature distribution, species concentration are discussed.
