\textit{U. Abel} and \textit{V. Gupta} [Demonstr. Math. 36, No. 1, 123--136 (2003; Zbl 1028.41016)] introduced the operators \(V^*_{n,\alpha}\) as Bezier variants of the Baskakov-Kantorovich operators and studied the rate of convergence for functions of bounded variation in the case \(\alpha \geq 1\). The authors of this paper consider the case \(0<\alpha <1\) and investigate the pointwise approximation properties of \(V^*_{n,\alpha}\). The class of approximated functions contains the functions of bounded variations as a special case.
