    A CW-complex \(X\) is said to be W-trivial if for every vector bundle \(\xi\) over \(X\) the total Stiefel-Whitney class is \(w(\xi)=1\). Classical result of \textit{M. Atiyah} and \textit{F. Hirzebruch} [Proc. Camb. Philos. Soc. 57, 223--226 (1961; Zbl 0108.35902)] show that \(9\)th suspensions are W-trivial, and \(S^k\) is \(W\)-trivial if and only if \(k \neq 1,2,4,8\). \textit{R. Tanaka} [Homology Homotopy Appl. 12, No. 1, 357--366 (2010; Zbl 1198.55009)] determines which \(\mathbb RP^n\), \(\mathbb CP^n\) and \(\mathbb HP^n\) are W-trivial. In the paper under review, the authors answer the question for suspensions of stunted projective spaces. They determine precisely for which values of \(k\), \(m\) and \(n\) the spaces \(\Sigma^k \mathbb RP^m/\mathbb RP^n\), \(\Sigma^k \mathbb CP^m/\mathbb CP^n\), and \(\Sigma^k \mathbb HP^m/\mathbb HP^n\) are W-trivial.
