The author partially extends an inequality by Szegö and Erdős concerning pairs of consecutive coefficients to the unit ball of polynomials with respect to the uniform norm on a compact interval. Some extensions are shown to work, and the proofs provided are quite technical, yet other extensions are shown to be hopeless.
