In this article, the authors generalize the results on matrix \(l\)-algebras over totally ordered fields to matrix \(l\)-algebras over totally ordered integral domains. The authors derive necessary and sufficient conditions that ensure the entrywise lattice order on \(M_n(R)\), where \(R\) is an integral domain, is the unique lattice order to make it into an \(l\)-algebra in which the identity matrix \(1>0\). The conditions are then applied to particular integral domains. In Section 3, the authors consider matrix \(l\)-rings containing a positive cycle over totally ordered rings and prove the result [in \textit{J. Ma} and \textit{Y. Zhang}, Positivity 17, No. 2, 299-307 (2013; Zbl 1339.06021)] is true for any \(n\times n\) matrix \(l\)-ring. Finally in Section 4, motivated by a result in general ring theory, the authors provide a characterization of the matrix \(l\)-ring with the entrywise lattice order.
