Let \(G \subset \mathbb {P}^5(\mathbb {C})\) be a smooth quadric hypersurface. A quadratic complex (or quadratic complex) is a complete intersection \(G\cap F\) with another quadric. Hence it determines a pencil of quadrics \(T\). The multiplicities of the eigenvalues of \(T\) are the Segre symbol of \(G\cap F\). Here the authors construct the coarse moduli spaces of the quadratic complexes with fixed Segre symbol (both with respect to the action of \(\text{SO}(G) = \text{SO}(6)\) and the action of \(\text{SL}(4)\): notice that \(\text{PSO}(6) \cong \text{PSL}(4)\)). They also study the fiber of the moduli spaces for the \(\text{SL}(4)\)-action, reproving and explaining classical work by Klein.
