\textit{Yu.\,V.\,Egorov}'s theorem [Usp.\ Mat.\ Nauk 24, No.\,5(149), 235--236 (1969; Zbl 0191.43802)] asserts a canonical transformation of principal symbols of pseudodifferential operators conjugated by Fourier integral operators. The author proves that the statement of Egorov's theorem remains true if, instead of considering principal symbols in \(S^m/S^{m-1}\), one uses refined principal symbols in \(S^m/S^{m-2}\), which for classical operators correspond simply to the principal plus subprincipal symbol, and can be regarded as the first two terms of the Weyl symbol expansion. As the author says, results of a similar kind (in the framework of semiclassical analysis and with Weyl operators) were obtained also by \textit{B.\,Helffer} and \textit{J.\,Sjöstrand} [Mém.\ Soc.\ Math.\ Fr., Nouv.\ Sér.\ 39 (1989; Zbl 0725.34099)] and by \textit{M.\,Hitrik} and \textit{J.\,Sjöstrand} [Ann.\ Henri Poincaré 5, No.\,1, 1--73 (2004; Zbl 1059.47056)]. The author's technique, however, remains completely within classical microlocal analysis and works for pseudodifferential operators on general manifolds.
