Using a variant of Darbo's fixed point theorem (with a measure of noncompactness which takes also non-monotonicity into account) the existence of a monotone solution of the problem \[ x(t)=a(t)+(Tx)(t)\int_0^ tu(t,s,x(s),\max_{\tau\in[0,s]}\left| x(\tau)\right|)\,ds \] is proved. The main assumptions are that \(u\) is monotone with respect to \(t\), \(T\) is condensing with respect to the corresponding measure of noncompactness, and that \(T\) and \(u\) satisfy linear growth conditions, all with sufficiently small constants.
