The authors consider a class of second order quasilinear damped differential equations with impulses. By using the Riccati technique and a class of functions of the form \(H(t, s)k(s)\), they establish some new oscillation criteria of Kamenev-type, Philos-type and Yan-type, where the Yan-type oscillation criteria are related to the paper [\textit{J. Yan}, Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 98, 276--282 (1986; Zbl 0622.34027)]. The obtained criteria extend and improve a number of existing results. Two examples are also included to show the significance of the results. It is worth noting that the class of functions of the form \(H(t, s)k(s)\) has been introduced in [\textit{Q. Wang}, Arch. Math. 76, No. 5, 385--390 (2001; Zbl 0989.34024)] and its importance was explained in [\textit{Q. Wang}, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 295, No. 1, 40--54 (2004; Zbl 1058.34038)].
