An \textit{f}-manifold is a smooth manifold \(N^{2n+l}\) equipped with a \((1,1)\)-tensor field \(\phi\) of rank \(2n\) and nullity \(l\) satisfying \(\phi^3+\phi=0\). For a smooth map \(\psi\colon M\rightarrow(N,\phi)\) of a manifold \(M\) into an \textit{f}-manifold \(N^{2n+l}\) with \(d\psi(TM) \subseteq \phi(TN)\) and \(l\not=0\), the author shows conditions which imply that \(\psi\) is constant. Some consequences are also given.
