The paper discusses ordinary differential equations of the form \[ \dot u = f(u) + \varepsilon g(u,t), \] where the function \(g\) is periodic in \(t\), and for \(\varepsilon = 0\), the equation admits an annulus of periodic orbits which contains a periodic orbit whose period is in resonance with the function \(g\). Using Lyapunov-Schmidt reduction, the bifurcation of periodic solutions is discussed. In addition, the paper includes global studies involving infinity via Poincaré compactification for polynomial vector fields. In particular, the quadratic case is discussed in detail. The results in the article are similar to \textit{S.-N. Chow, J. K. Hale} and \textit{J. Mallet-Paret} [J. Differ. Equations 37, 351--373 (1980; Zbl 0439.34035)], however, attention is not restricted to a compact subset in the paper at hand.
