A global existence result is provided for a viscous-compressible model of reacting fluid with radiation. The model is described by the compressible Navier-Stokes system coupled to a diffusion equation modelling the chemical reaction. Radiation is taken into account in the local-thermodynamical-equilibrium framework by adding Stefan-Boltzmann contributions to the pressure and energy laws. The heat-conductivity and viscosity coefficients may depend on the temperature. The proof relies on weak compactness methods, in the spirit of [\textit{P. L. Lions}, Mathematical methods in fluid mechanics. Vol. 2. Oxford: Oxford University Press (1998; Zbl 0908.76004)] and [\textit{E. Feireisl}, Dynamics of viscous compressible fluids. Oxford: Oxford University Press (2004; Zbl 1080.76001)].
