A right \(R\)-module \(M\) is called YJ-injective (also called GP-injective) if for any \(0\neq a\in R\) there exists a positive integer \(n\) such that \(a^n\neq 0\) and any \(R\)-homomorphism from \(a^n\)R into \(M\) extends to one of \(R\) into \(M\). A ring \(R\) is said to be right GP-V (resp., right GP-V\('\)) if every simple (resp., singular) right \(R\)-module is YJ-injective. Some characterizations of strongly regular rings are given in terms of GP-V rings and GP-V\('\) rings. For example, a ring \(R\) is strongly regular if and only if \(R\) is a right GP-V ring for which every maximal right ideal is a weakly left ideal if and only if \(R\) is an Abelian right GP-V\('\) ring whose every maximal essential right ideal is a weakly left ideal.
