On entire solutions of a semilinear elliptic equation on the plane (Q2459696)

The authors deal with the equation \[ \Delta_x u= k(x)f(u),\quad x\in\mathbb{R}^2,\tag{1} \] where \(k(x)\) is a nonnegative continuous function and \(f(u)\) is a positive continuous function with domain \(\text{dom\,}f= \mathbb{R}\) or \(\text{dom\,}f= \mathbb{R}_+:= (0,+\infty)\). They are mainly interested in entire solutions of (1). The authors present new sufficient conditions for the absence of entire solutions of (1). In addition, the authors give the example which shows that their condition for the absence of entire solutions of (1) is sharp.
