The paper describes injective \(S\)-acts and injective hulls of \(S\)-acts over left zero semigroups. Cauchy sequences are used as the main tool in the proofs. For a right \(S\)-act \(A\), a sequence \((a_s)_{s\in S}\) of elements of \(A\) is called a `Cauchy sequence' if \(a_st=a_{st}\) for all \(s,t\in S\). An element \(b\) of some extension \(B\) of \(A\) is said to be a `limit' of the sequence if \(bs=a_s\) for all \(s\in S\). An \(S\)-act \(A\) is said to be `complete' if any Cauchy sequence over \(A\) has a limit in \(A\). It is proved that over a right zero semigroup \(S\) the following statements are equivalent for a right \(S\)-act \(A\): 1) \(A\) is injective; 2) \(A\) is complete; 3) for every right ideal \(I\) of \(S\) and every homomorphism \(f\colon I\to A\) there exists an element \(a\in A\) such that \(f(s)=as\), \(s\in I\). Essential extensions and injective hulls of \(S\)-acts over right zero semigroups are described as well.
