The author studies the solutions to the integral equation \[ x(t)= a(t) - \int_0^t C(t,s)x(s)\, ds, \quad t \geq 0, \] and in particular the question under what assumptions the solution \(x\) belongs to \(L^p(0,\infty)\) when the function \(a\) does not necessarily belong to the same space but satisfies some other appropriate conditions as e.g. integrability of the derivative. The assumptions on the kernel \(C\) involve various monotonicity and boundedness conditions and in the proofs the author uses many different Lyapunov functionals.
