The sup-inf power sequence for matrices over distributive lattices can be convergent or periodic (what was summarized by \textit{K. Cechlárová} [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 138, No. 3, 627--641 (2003; Zbl 1075.05537)]). If we consider max-\(T\) powers of matrices \(A \in [0,1]^{n\times n}\) with a triangular norm \(T \neq \min\), then we can obtain an additional case: asymptotic periodicity [cf. \textit{C.-T. Pang} and \textit{S.-M. Guu}, Linear Algebra Appl. 330, 209--213 (2001; Zbl 0982.15016), Definition 1]. The asymptotic periodicity of max-\(T\) powers was characterized by the author [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 138, No. 3, 643--656 (2003; Zbl 1087.15023)] for Archimedean triangular norms \(T\) using periodicity of a suitable Boolean matrix \(\overline{A}\). The author reproves and extends this result using directed paths and circuits of the weighted directed graph associated with the matrix \(A\) (Theorem 1). In particular, he gives a characterization of matrices with max-\(T\) powers convergent to the zero matrix (Theorem 2). Another characterization of convergence in the case of an arbitrary upper semicontinuous triangular norm \(T\) was presented by \textit{Z.-T. Fan} [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 109, No. 3, 409--417 (2000; Zbl 0980.15013)].
