For a space \(X\), a mapping \(f:X\rightarrow X\) and a natural number \(n\) let \(f^n\) denote the \(n\)th composition of \(f\). A point \(x\) is said to be: -- a periodic point of \(f\) provided that there is \(n\) such that \(f^n (x)=x\), -- an eventually-periodic point for \(f\) provided that there exists \(m\in \mathbb N \cup \{0\}\) such that \(f^m (x)\) is a periodic point of period \(n\) for \(f\), -- a nonwandering point of \(f\) provided that for any open set \(U\) containing \(x\) there exists \(y\in U\) and \(n\in N\) such that \(f^n (y) \in U\). The set of eventually-periodic points of \(f\) is denoted by \(\text{EP}(f)\), the set of nonwandering points by \(\Omega (f)\). The space has the nonwandering-property (\(\Omega \text{EP}\)-property) if \(\Omega (f) \subset \) \(\text{cl}_X \text{EP}(f)\). It is proved that for a locally connected continuum \(X\), \(X\) has the \(\Omega \text{EP}\)-property if and only if \(X\) is a dendrite that does not contain a homeomorphic copy of the null-comb. This is extension of a result by \textit{A. Illanes} and \textit{J. J. Charatonik} [Topology Appl. 144, 109--132 (2004; Zbl 1057.54025)]. Next it is proved that every continuum \(X\) that contains an arc \(A\) and a point \(p \in A\) such that \(X\) is not connected im kleinen at \(p\) does not have the \(\Omega \text{EP}\)-property, answering Question 1 of [\textit{J. Hladký, J. Novák, P. Pyrih, M. Sterzik} and \textit{M. Tancer}, Topology Appl. 153, 3621--3626 (2006; Zbl 1111.54028)]. Finally an uncountable family of nonlocally connected continua containing arcs with the \(\Omega \text{EP}\)-property is shown.
