The authors study the convergence behavior of combined Fourier and finite element techniques applied to the Poisson equation over rotational symmetric domains. By means of cylindric coordinates and Fourier expansion the use of finite elements is required for the 2D-problem. The domain of this reduced problem is assumed to be a polyhedron with one reentrant corner. Domain decomposition on the basis of Nitsche mortaring is applied. The authors derive the convergence theory for the complete 3D-problem and a simple test example experimentally illustrates the obtained error estimates.
