\(S\)-brane solutions with (anti-)self-dual parallel charge density form on a Ricci-flat submanifold (Q2461051)

The authors study a \(D\)-dimensional cosmological model with several scalar fields and an antisymmetric \((p+2)\)-form. The mathematical model is governed by the action \[ S=\int_{M}d^Dz\sqrt{| g| }\bigl[R[g] - m_{ab}g^{MN}\partial_{M}\varphi^a\partial_{N}\varphi^b - (1/q!)e^{2\lambda_a\varphi^a}F^2\bigr], \] where \(g=g_{MN}dz^{M}\otimes dz^{N}\) is the metric, \(\varphi = (\varphi^a)\) is a set (vector) of scalar fields, \(a=1,2,\dots,l\); \(\lambda = (\lambda_a )\in \mathbb{R}^l\) is a constant vector (set) of dilatonic couplings, \((m_{ab})\) is a symmetric non-degenerate \(l\times l\) matrix; \[ F=dA=(1/q!)F_{M_1\dots M_q}dz^{M_1}\wedge \dots \wedge dz^{M_q} \] is a \(q\)-form, \(q=p+2\geq 1\), on a \(D\)-dimensional manifold \(M\). The authors prove that for dimensions \(D=4m+1\) \((m=1,2,3,...)\) there exists a family of new cosmological type solutions with an \(4m\)-dimensional oriented Ricci-flat submanifold \(N\) of Euclidean signature. These solutions are characterized by a self-dual or anti-self-dual parallel charge density form \(Q\) of rank \(2m\) defined on \(N\). The (sub)manifold could be chosen to be a Kähler one or an 8-dimensional manifold of Spin(7)-holonomy. A generalization of these solutions to a chain of extra (marginal) Ricci-flat factor spaces is also discussed. Some examples of new solutions for IIA supergravity and for a chain of \(B_D\)-models in dimensions \(D=14,15,\dots\) are considered.
