This paper deals with a ``vectorialized'' version of the well-known Krasnosel'skij fixed point theorem in cones, in which the compression-expansion conditions are given componentwise. Namely, the single cone of the classical version of this result is here replaced by the Cartesian product of two cones, the classical conditions being imposed on each of them separately. This approach allows to establish the existence of fixed points even in the presence of quite different behaviours in the two component cones. Applications are given to the existence and localization of positive harmonic solutions of a class of periodically perturbed periodic systems of first order differential equations in \(\mathbb{R}^2\).
