On Steenrod operations in oriented and special unitary cobordism theories (Q2462032)

This paper investigates a method proposed by \textit{V. A. Smirnov} [Math. Notes 65, No.~2, 221--229 (1999; Zbl 0952.55009)] for constructing Steenrod operations in generalized cohomology theories, using the notions of bioperad and multiplicative family over an operad. The paper under review specializes on the cases of SO and SU cobordism and clarifies the connection between the resulting operations in these cases and the operations constructed by \textit{T. tom Dieck} [Math. Z. 107, 380--401 (1968; Zbl 0167.51801)].
