The present book deals with the calculus of boundary value problems (BVP), where the data of the coefficients have singularities. Such topical questions as ellipticity on manifolds with singular boundaries, edge and corner pseudo-differential calculus, problems with mixed and transmission conditions, problems of Zaremba type, crack problems, meromorphic symbolic structures, relative index are considered. The book consists of 10 chapters and bibliography with 228 references. Chapter 1 plays the part of an introduction. The elliptic BVPs for differential operators with smooth coefficients and discontinuous along an interface of codimension 1 conditions are studied. In Chapter 2 both operators with scalar symbols and operators with operator-valued symbols are considered. Operators on manifolds either with edges and conical points or with conical exists to infinity are considered as well. Chapter 3 is devoted to pseudo-differential boundary value problems with the transmission property at the boundary including the calculus on a manifold with conical exit to infinity. In Chapter 4 mixed problems in standard Sobolev spaces are studied. The Fredholm property under additional interface conditions of potential type are shown. In Chapter 5 mixed problems in weighted edge spaces are studied. Relations between edge and standard Sobolev spaces are discussed as well. Chapter 6 is devoted to the study of operators or manifolds with conical singularities in terms of the so called cone algebra. The basic properties of Fuchs type operators in connection with the Mellin quantization are investigated. The Chapter 7 contains the most essential material on pseudo-differential edge algebra operators on manifolds with edge and boundary. Some examples are discussed. In Chapter 8 mixed and crack problems with conical singularities at the interface are studied. In this chapter the authors are, mainly, concentrated on the case of Zaremba problem. Chapter 9 is devoted to the study of operators on infinite cylinders with meromorphic amplitude functions for different cases of cross-sections with boundary and conical singularities. Relative index results are formulated. In Chapter 10 intuitive ideas and historical backgrounds of concepts in the analysis on configurations with singularities are discussed. Open problems and new challenges are discussed as well. I consider this book as an essential contribution to the corresponding scientific direction.
