    The author studies the higher integrability of second order derivatives of solutions of elliptic equations in nondivergence form \[ Lu=h \] where \(\Omega\) is a bounded open set in \(\mathbb R^n,\,\) the known term \(h \in L^2(\Omega) \) and the coefficients of the second order derivatives are assumed to be bounded and having small BMO-norm. Under these assumptions the author proves that if \(u \in W^{2,2}_{\text{loc}} (\Omega) \) and \(Lu \in L^r(\Omega), \) for some \(r>2, \), then it follows that \(u \in W^{2,p}_{\text{loc}} (\Omega), \) for some \( p > 2, \) and \[ \Bigl(\frac{1}{|Q|}\,\int_Q | D^2 \,u |^p\, dx \Bigr)^{\frac{1}{p}}\, \leq\, \Bigl(\frac{1}{|2 Q|}\,\int_{2 Q} | D^2 \,u |^2\, dx \Bigr)^{\frac{1}{2}} \] for any cube \(Q \subset 2Q \subset\subset \Omega.\) The main tool is to show that if \( D^2 \,u \, \in L^2(\mathbb R^n) \) and \(h \in L^2 (\mathbb R^n), \) it follows \[ \| D ^2 u \|_{L^2 (\mathbb R^n)} \leq c \cdot \| h \|_{L^2 (\mathbb R^n)} \] where the coefficient matrix \(A=A (x)\) is such that \(\|A\|_{\text{BMO}} \leq \varepsilon\) for suitable \(\varepsilon >0.\)
