The authors present some generalisations of the compound trapezoidal quadrature rule. Let \(f\) be a sufficiently smooth function. Assume that the values of \(f\), \(f'\), and \(f''\) are given at equidistant nodes. Using finite element techniques, new quadrature rules are derived. The related quadrature weights are computed. The maximum degree of exactly integrated polynomials is determined. Further, error estimates are presented.
