    The compressible Navier-Stokes-Fourier-Poisson system with small parameter \(\varepsilon\) is studied in a domain \(\Omega\subset\mathbb R^3\) \[ \begin{aligned} &\varepsilon\frac{\partial \rho}{\partial t}+\text{div\,}(\rho v)=0,\quad \Delta\Phi=\rho,\\ &\varepsilon\frac{\partial (\rho v)}{\partial t}+\text{div\,}(\rho v\otimes v)+\nabla p=\text{div\,}S-\rho\nabla \Phi-\frac{1}{\varepsilon}\rho v,\\ &\varepsilon\frac{\partial (\rho s)}{\partial t}+\text{div\,}(\rho s v)+\text{div\,}\left(\frac{q}{\vartheta}\right)\geq \frac{1}{\vartheta}\left(S:\nabla v-\frac{q\cdot\nabla\vartheta}{\vartheta}+\frac{1}{\varepsilon}\rho | v| ^2\right),\\ &\int\limits_\Omega\left(\frac{1}{2}\rho | v| ^2+\rho\, e+\frac{1}{2}\rho\Phi\right)dx=E_\varepsilon. \end{aligned}\tag{1} \] where \(v\) is the velocity of a fluid, \(p\) is the pressure, \(\rho\) is the density, \(\vartheta\) is the temperature, \(s\) is the entropy, \(q\) is the heat flux, \(S\) is the stress tensor, \(\Phi\) is the scalar potential, \(e\) is the internal energy. The system (1) is a model of a self-gravitating fluid subjected to high temperature radiation effects. The quantity \(\rho v/\varepsilon\) can be interpreted as a ``friction'' term due to the surrounding medium at rest. The authors show that the asymptotic limit of system (1) for \(\varepsilon\to 0\) is the Smoluchowski-Poisson system \[ \begin{aligned} &\frac{\partial \rho}{\partial t}=\text{div\,}(\nabla p(\rho,\vartheta)+\rho\nabla\Phi),\qquad \Delta\Phi=\rho,\\ &\int\limits_\Omega\left(\rho\, e\,(\rho,\vartheta)+\frac{1}{2}\rho\Phi\right)dx=E_0. \end{aligned} \]
