Let \(\mathbb{F}\) be a field of characteristic \(p>3\), let \(V=V_{\overline{0}} \oplus V_{\overline{1}}\) be a finite-dimensional superspace over \(\mathbb{F}\) with \(n=\dim V_{\overline{0}}=\dim V_{\overline{1}}\), and let \(\widetilde{p}(n)\) denote the subsuperalgebra of the general linear Lie superalgebra of \(V\) that annihilates some non-degenerate odd skew-supersymmetric bilinear form on \(V\). In the paper under review the authors prove an embedding theorem for those \(\mathbb{Z}\)-graded transitive Lie superalgebras \(\mathfrak{g}\) of depth one over \(\mathbb{F}\) for which \(\mathfrak{g}_0\cong\widetilde{p}(2n)\), the \(\mathfrak{g}_0\)-module \(\mathfrak{g}_{-1}\) is isomorphic to the natural \(\widetilde{p}(2n)\)-module, and \(\dim\mathfrak{g}_1=\frac{2}{3}n(2n^2+1)\) where \(n:=\frac{1}{2}\dim\mathfrak{g}_{-1}\). In particular, every finite-dimensional simple Lie superalgebra over \(\mathbb{F}\) satisfying these conditions is isomorphic to an odd Hamiltonian superalgebra. The authors also determine when odd Hamiltonian superalgebras over \(\mathbb{F}\) are restricted which consequently give restricted analogues of their embedding and isomorphism theorem. In an earlier paper by the second author and \textit{G. Shen} [Sci. China, Ser. A 41, No. 10, 1009--1016 (1998; Zbl 0933.17012)] and a paper by the second author [Acta Math. Sin., Engl. Ser. 18, No. 4, 687--700 (2002; Zbl 1137.17305)] similar results are obtained for Witt and special Lie superalgebras.
