The authors prove that \(u=v=0\) is the only solution of the system \[ u(x)=\int_{\mathbb{R}^n}| x-y| ^{\mu-n}v(y)^q \,dy,\qquad v(x)=\int_{\mathbb{R}^n} | x-y| ^{\mu-n}u(y)^p\,dy, \] if \(n\geq2\), \(0<\mu<n\), and \(1<p,q\leq(n+\mu)/(n-\mu)\) but not both equal to \((n+\mu)/(n-\mu)\), which answers in the affirmative (a generalization of) a conjecture by \textit{J. Serrin} and \textit{H. Zou} [Discourses Math. Appl. 3, 55--68 (1994; Zbl 0900.35121)]. The technique used is a moving plane method applied to Kelvin-type transforms of \(u\) and \(v\).
