Properties of the Selberg zeta-function are usually derived via the Selberg trace formula. In the rank one case, using a contour integral, the Selberg trace formula can be derived from the Selberg zeta-function [\textit{J. Fischer}, An approach to the Selberg trace formula via the Selberg zeta-function. Lecture Notes in Mathematics, 1253. Berlin etc.: Springer-Verlag (1987; Zbl 0618.10029)]. In higher rank groups, the zeta function corresponds to a Lefschetz formula attached to the action of a minimal split torus. In [Geom. Funct. Anal. 14, No. 6, 1238--1266 (2005; Zbl 1102.11028) and J. Fixed Point Theory Appl. 2, No. 1, 1--40 (2007; Zbl 1205.58014)] such formulas were obtained by the author. In the paper under review a general Lefschetz formula in the \(p\)-adic setting is given.
