A refined weighted Hardy inequality is proved for \(p\geq 2\). The inequality is reversed for \(1<p\leq 2\), with equality case for \(p=2\). The breaking point here is \(p=2\), while the usual situation for other Hardy type inequalities the breaking point is at \(p=1\). The proofs use the properties of the superquadratic and subquadratic functions introduced by S. Abramovich, G. Jameson and G. Sinnamon. First, some new inequalities involving superquadratic and subquadratic functions are established, further a refinement of Jensen inequality. Then refined Hardy's inequalities are presented and finally some concluding remarks and examples can be found.
