An act \(X\) is called (finitely) subdirectly irreducible if \(X\) has at least two elements and, whenever the equality on \(X\) is the intersection of (finitely many, respectively) congruences on \(X\), one of the latter must be the equality on \(X\). Finitely subdirectly irreducible acts over a commutative semigroup \(S\) are described for the following classes of acts: 1) cancellative \(S\)-acts (that is, the action \(x\mapsto sx\) is injective for every \(s\in S\)); 2) nilpotent \(S\)-acts (there exists a zero element \(z\in X\) and for every \(s\in S\), there exists \(n>0\) such that \(s^nx=z\) for all \(x\in X\)) with enough minimal elements; 3) subelementary \(S\)-acts (\(S\) is the disjoint union of a nonempty subsemigroup \(C\) and a nonempty ideal \(N\), such that \(C\) acts injectively and \(N\) acts nilpotently on \(X\)) with zero. Subdirectly irreducible acts over a finitely generated commutative semigroup are described for the following classes of acts: 1) finitely generated cancellative \(S\)-acts 2) finitely generated nilpotent \(S\)-acts; 3) finitely generated subelementary \(S\)-acts.
