The authors solve a problem of Belousov's: To characterize the loop isotopes of F-quasigroups. This problem was open since 1967. In 1979, the first author implicitly conjectured the answer to Belousov's problem: Every loop \((Q,+)\) isotopic to a given F-quasigroup \((Q,\cdot)\) is a Moufang loop [Czech. Math. J. 29(104), 62-83 (1979; Zbl 0444.20067)]. Now the authors present a concise answer to the problem: Every F-quasigroup is isotopic to a Moufang loop. As we know Moufang loops are isotopically invariant. In Belousov's open problem, Belousov asked the same question regarding loop isotopes for the one-sided case of left F-quasigroups. The answer to this question was found by \textit{I. A. Golovko} [Izv. Akad. Nauk Mold. SSR, Ser. Fiz.-Tekh. Mat. Nauk 1970, No. 2, 3-13 (1970; Zbl 0235.20066)], who showed that every left F-quasigroup is isotopic to a left M-loop [see \textit{L. V. Sabinin}, Smooth quasigroups and loops. Math. Appl. 492. Dordrecht: Kluwer Academic Publishers (1999; Zbl 0939.20064)]. This book has the most accessible proof of Golovko's result.
